Crab Bites:

Concept 2 finally releases floating erg, Coast guard is said to be alarmed.

Concept 2 has announced the release of the floating erg. "This is a total change of paradigm, winter training will never be the same" lightweights rejoice.
The Coast guard is concerned, as rowers concentrating on core strength may tend to watch their monitor and not be fully aware of other exercisers. Concept 2, aware of the dangers involved, especially on the Charles river, has provided this photo as a demonstration of correct form. We expect this to be copied by other manufacturers of gym equipment: running machines for the road, Nordic track for Vermont, the possibilities are endless...

Regatta slings save the race

Rowing Coach brings his good luck back home:

Coach James Mangan, who has not removed his SRC hat since moving to Ireland, keeps it as a talisman for the "luck of the Connetiquoit". Bemused local rowers have offered to purchase the lad a new cap, but he is having none of it. See more images on Rowgue

LAST BOAT STANDING wins the race!

After Hurricane Lucy swept through the U23 champs last year only one boat was left untouched: protected by the magnetic fields that emanate from the Rowgue regatta slings, this 1x was able to go down the course unchallenged to win first place. Rowing's favorite insurers recommend all boats "strap up" with Rowgue regatta slings. One caveat though: magnetically supercharged boats may want to go backwards in the Southern Hemisphere.

Color can improve your results!

An exhausting study published in Norway this winter determined that bright colors do indeed correlate with podium finishes.

Results from over 200 races were chromo-analysed with a high sensitivity electron spectroscope and with one notable exception (see below) the results were definite, even to the color blind. A particular shade of pale germanic yellow was found to be particularly effective.
Following the lead of the irish enthusiasts in Chicago, some eager and fair-minded race parents dyed regatta waters to obtain faster results for all, with unquestionable results.
