Accomodations and Meals

We will be staying at the Castle Oaks House: built in the mid 18th C when the area was celebrated for the curative powers of the waters and the loveliness of the countryside, the hotel boasts a spa and fifty acres of grounds running to the Shannon river. (More history is available on the site: www.castleoaks.ie). The hotel is located in the charming village of Castleconnell. We will have our lunches at a local pub, and dinners each night at the hotel. Meals are all inclusive including irish ale at dinner. Our last night we will enjoy an irish dance and dinner "in town".

Each person will have their own well-appointed room and bathroom. The boathouse is only a half mile away, which can be easily walked along the river. Bicycle rentals are also available, just ask us!

     Non rowers are welcome to join us. There are walking paths in the hotel parkland, as well as a well marked system of trails nearby. There is salmon fishing on the hotel grounds, riding and cycling. In addition, for enthusiasts there are many fine golf courses in the region, including Dromoland and Adare Manor. The fee for non rowers sharing a rower's room is $900.00.
